Getting Started: A Seamless Setup Experience

The FARO Blink truly lives up to its promise of ease of use. Here’s a quick walkthrough of how simple it is to get scanning:

  1. Download the Stream App: Use the QR code provided in the Quick Start Guide to download the dedicated Stream app onto your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Set Up the Tripod: Unpack and extend all legs of the tripod, ensuring it's stable and fully extended for optimal scanning height.
  3. Mount the Blink: Carefully remove the Blink scanner from its case and secure it onto the tripod. Lock it firmly in place.
  4. Insert Battery & Power On: Open the designated compartment on the Blink and insert one of the fully charged batteries. Then, power on the device by pressing and holding the power button for about two seconds.
  5. Connect and Scan:
    • Use your phone or tablet's camera to scan the QR code located on the Blink's physical Quick Start Guide (or directly on the scanner). This will automatically connect your device to the Blink's Wi-Fi network.
    • Open the Stream app.
    • Create and name a new project for your scan data.
    • With just one simple tap of the "play" button within the app, the scanner will automatically begin to rotate and capture data!
